The squad numbers for the forthcoming season have been announced today with several changes being made from last season. The most notable exemption is that of former captain Rob Lee who has not been given any squad number, his number 7 from last season having been given to Kieron Dyer. Alessandro Pistone's number 5 has been given to Alain Goma, Stuart Pearce has moved to West Ham, his number 3 will be worn by Marcelino, while the other summer signing, Franck Dumas will wear 8 formerly worn by Stephane Guivarc'h. Didi Hamann's number 12 is now in the keeping of Andy Griffin, George Georgiadis' 15 will be worn by Nolberto Solano, Louis Saha's 18 by Aaron Hughes and Keith Gillespie's 19 by Jamie McClen. The 25 worn by Paul Dalglish and the 27 of Phillip Albert now belong to Brian Kerr and David Beharall respectively. Apart from Lee, two others at the club not to be given squad numbers are Pistone and Des Hamilton.
